Subject Matter Expert answering questions on fire protection systems standards in the Technical Questions Service.

Was responsible for the procurement of contracts for A&E Design Services and Construction Services. Developed the scopes of the service contracts, evaluated the offerors, and selected the best proposal.

Managed the active contracts for capacity, and recommended which projects would be assigned to which contract. Prepared new contracts when the active contracts reached capacity, and developed the new contracts on the projected needs of upcoming projects.

Managed the internal Quality Assurance program for all in-house design products. Tracked upcoming submittals and worked with the Design Manager to assign technical reviewers. Performed preliminary technical reviews on the design products for completeness, organization, and cross-discipline coordination before sending out to reviewers.

Managed the technical training budget for all Architects and Engineers. Developed guidance documents and provided training on topics based on surveys and interviews I developed and performed.

Primary Fire Protection Engineer for eight Navy Installations. Developed fire protection full designs & specs and RFPs. Subject Matter Expert on fire protection issues for the area I supported. Responsible for the final testing and acceptance of all fire protection systems in my AOR. Trained junior fire protection engineers, other architects and engineers, and public works personnel on fire protection systems and life safety.
