I am a Psychiatric/MH Nurse Practitioner completing 28 years of military service as an RN and NP, with over 14 years of clinical experience as a provider to adult military and family members and retirees. I maintain a continuous performance improvement mindset focused on patient outcomes. I emphasize strategies to improve healthy living over medications, with medications secondarily to support and facilitate those lifestyle changes. I believe counseling and education to be the most effective therapy, and consistently applied this in my work with clients. Suffering is integral to change and growth, but reduced as needed to support safety and daily functioning. Medications are primarily to preserve safety and support the client in that growth and change. I understand the difference between adjustment and existential distress versus more serious disorders requiring a primary medication intervention. My goal is to engaged each person in a process toward complete wellness. My experience as a military provider in the era of our recent wars has provided a fundamental understanding of the chronic stressors and distress related to traumatic experiences, and common comorbid disorders such as substance use, depression, anxiety, chronic pain, and insomnia. Hardworking and passionate job seeker with strong organizational skills eager to secure entry-level [Job Title] position. Ready to help team achieve company goals.
