I am second generation Elevator Constructor. I mostly did new installations in high rise buildings in Manhattan but I also installed many Hydros in Long Island and the 5 boroughs. My last few years with Otis were in Modernization 3 and a half years at Empire state building. Hardest job I ever did. I'm a team player that knows how to work with others. I keep it light and try and make work fun. My crews always do our best. I give 8 hours work for 8 hours pay minus breaks of course. I am retired now and living in Florida. Getting boring and expensive to live so I feel like going back to work. I don't want to work as physically hard as I used to so I am looking into using what I have learned over the years .I think I can do inspections.

undefinedI think a major accomplishment for me was surviving and thriving in a very dangerous industry for 39 years. I am proud of every elevator I turned over into the public. When I look at the NYC skyline and see all the building that I had a hand in building or modernizing I get very proud.
As I wrote previously, pride in my craft and learning my craft is a major accomplishment for me. Teaching the youngsters starting out now was a challenge. I don't know what is going to happen in the future but I do see the technology changing rapidly.
