Accomplished fitter/welder with over 17 years at Gardner Cryogenics, specializing in precision welding techniques and blueprint interpretation. Proven ability to adapt and excel in diverse environments, demonstrated by transitioning from crane operator to skilled welder. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills enhance project efficiency and quality, ensuring top-tier results in high-pressure settings.
I am a fitter/welder here for 17+ years. We make liquid helium vacuum jacketed pressure vessels. I insulate, fit and weld, helium leak check, pressure check. We do a lot of x-ray tig welding on small pipe. Flux core. Aluminum welding.
Started as a forklift operator, then became the 100 ton crane operator. I wanted to become fitter/welder and they sent me to WTTI to learn how to weld. I worked 10 hour days and went to school at night for 6 months. We built almost everything to run a cement plant, I've welded flux core, solid wire, sub arc, air arc, and oxy acetylene hand burned, plasma cut. I can weld any process. F.l. Schmidt closed out shop and BVI took over and we built all kinds of different things, heat exchangers, maintenance decks for under bridges. I really enjoyed working there but I had a feeling it was gonna close and I applied at Gardner cryogenics a division of air products.
Ran tests to make sure quality cement was being made.
Labor gang, loaded tires, ran bobcat, anything needed.
