Dedicated professional with strong customer service and cash handling skills. Known for integrity, patience, and effective communication, contributing to a positive shopping experience. Also am used to restocking inventory / products, answering phones / returning calls and messages, and taking care of product related questions from retail stores like Turkey Hill & Sally Beauty.
Job duties included operating the cash register, putting away both regular and frozen inventory, sweeping & mopping the floors each shift, refilling the coffee beans, and greeting each and every person that walked in the door.
Dutes included working the night shift on the line making, buttering up processing, and packaging up the garlic bread. If day shift were ever to need a fill in, we did pastries on day shift.
Turning over rooms for the next patiet after disinfection, and sterilization for the instruments with the ultrasonic and heat sterilization (when the clinical staff needed me in the back for extra help), insurance claims, answering the phones, retrieving and responding to all voicemails, going over treatment plan questions with patients as well as all pricing questions. We also had a sliding fee scale for patiets who were uninsured (many of which were immigrants who spoke little to no english and has no documentation) and we had to assist them in signing up or that which is basically a discounted "program" for all denta services we provided for our insured patients. I also had to look up state insurance eligibility for the following day's patients as well as get the benefits breakdown faxes for all of our patients with private insurance (insurance through an employer,) and obviously scheduling all patients that were walk ins, and scheduling all next appointments for the patients that needed to check out.
I started off serving which includes the normal to-be-assumed, duties as a server would have. I then transitioned into to go specialist which I ended up liking much more. We had to still get food and drinks, did NOT have to serve tables obviously, but it had the additional duties of taking orders over the phone, calling any customers on order updates or no shows, answering any menu related questions and answering any pricing questions.
Dental assisting duties here consisted of taking (and developing) X-rays, greeting and seating patients, taking PAN (or Panoramic films) for orthodontic patients, assisting in dental procedures such as amalgam or composite fillings, instrument exchange and assisting in more complicated, lengthy procedures such as Surgical Extractions or root canals in teeth with multiple canals, turning over rooms for the next patiet after disinfection, and sterilization for the instruments with the ultrasonic and heat sterilization.
It was part of the 12 month long program from summer of 2008-2009 and we had to study for, prepare hands on, and take the computer test in Harrisburg PA to obtain our X-ray license and work in any dental office taking radiographs.
