• As a public service worker for the City of Minneapolis, I was positioned in the solid waste and recycling division. This job entails the safe operation of some of the largest vehicles running in the city. While also meeting tight deadlines for garbage, recycling, organics, and yard waste routes. Knowledge of the city's layout, extreme alertness, and safe operations of the vehicle are critical because we are required to drive down tight alleyways or back down them.

• I was with the Checkers Union #953 in Baltimore, my hometown, for about three years. The job required you to operate a tablet while following rubber tire gantries or giant forklifts, and driving safely. Recording positions of cargo or changing them to the desired truck or spot you were loading them to. The same applied to cargo barges when they would come into port.

• I trained in safety awareness, radio frequency awareness, tower rescue, and inspection operations. This job required me to be deployed to states by plane or utility vehicle, where I would spend about a month with a partner to inspect cell phone sites. We were required to build the whole tower and site, including shelter, on a laptop while climbing the cell towers and using tools to look for faults and repairs. Documenting them with the camera so we could record repairs or faults we couldn't fix to charge the company.

The job required me to safely operate a 10,000-gallon fuel truck, while meeting tight schedules and working both independently and with a team to meet plane release times.

I also had to assess the safety of the aircraft when it came to the wings and the fueling components. On a lot of occasions, aircraft would be in-operation refueling, which means I would have to refer to the Captain of the aircraft and run manual wing transfers for refueling or show them how to operate the manual refueling transfers in the cockpit.

• I maintained Frac Tech pumps and the blender while deployed on the pad, and after four months, I was promoted to running all of the chemicals down the well during the fracking process. I was also sent in during stages to examine the iron for potential washouts, to help maintain the safety of our operation.
