My position at Trident Medical Center was my first experience as a travel technologist. I gained valuable experience performing CT scans on trauma and stroke patients. Unfortunately I was unable to complete my contract due to a knee injury.

• My responsibilties at Lexington Medical Center's Irmo Urgent Care facility included scanning patients using a GE scanner, post processing of images using Terarecon software, performing daily QA testing, placing iv lines as well as reviewing orders for accuracy and following up with referring physician's offices order clarification and correction.

My primary responsibility in this position was scanning patients in a level two trauma center ER while still rotating through the main CT department for inpatient care. This position provided me with experience in a higher level of trauma care as well as the opportunity to care for critical patients in the burn unit for the largest burn center in the nation. I enjoyed the experience at this facility but elected to give up this position because I was working nearly eighty hours a week between this position and my full time position at Lexington Medical Center.

• My time working at Providence Hospital though brief was very beneficial to me. I had been out of the hospital setting for several years and this position allowed me to perform procedures such as biopsies and drainages not done in the office setting using a Phillips 256 slice scanner. I left this position when a full time position became available very close to home at Lexington Medical Center Irmo Urgent Care Facility where I had been working PRN.

• I worked as a contract employee of Pitts Radiology Associates initially at Providence Hospital then transitioning to Laurel Imaging Center. My duties included scanning patients using a GE scanner, placing iv lines, assisting the radiologists with biopsy and drainage procedures as well as various clerical duties in the office including claim submission and follow up, insurance verification and scheduling.

• Ensured high-quality diagnostic images, meticulously following radiologic protocols and adjusting technical factors based on individual patient needs.
