Michael Gentry

As a MLT-Generalist, I maintain all analyzers by performing daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance. I use the GRYFOLS ERYTRA in blood bank as our automated system in aiding in the determination of ABORH and AB SCREENING. In Hematology, I use the DXH 900, in Chemistry the DXI 800 and the AU 5800's are used. In Coagulation the CA 2500 is used and the CA 600 is the backup. The OSMO 1 is used to determine serum and urine osmolality in our laboratory. I use the EASYLYTE Calcium for Ionized calcium determination, and in Urinalysis the AUTION MAX AX 4030 and the IRIS is used. I fulfill all duties required of me to process run and report out accurate and timely results to ensure quality patient care.

• During my employment at Maine Coast Medical Center, I worked as a generalist in all departments. Instrumentation used was Dimension EXL, CA-660, XN-1000, Bact T Alert, ABL 80, KX 21, Ortho Diagnostics Gel system, and a variety of Kit Testing. The LIS was Cerner Millenium.

• Duties while at Blount Memorial were in Blood Bank, Urinalysis, Microbiology, Chemistry, Urinalysis, and Coagulation. I used the Beckman DXI and the AU 5800 in Chemistry. I used the Griffols Erytra in Blood Bank along with the Ortho Diagnostic Gel System for a back up method. In Urinalysis the Aution Max along with the Iris was used. The Verigene was used in Microbiology along with plating of urines and positive blood cultures. Multiple kit testing was also performed. The CS-2500 was used in Coagulation for PT, PTT, and Fibrinogen testing. Special Chemistry testing was performed with the Vidas for PCT and D-Dimer testing.

• My duties while at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center were Microbiology and Hematology. I used the Cephiad along with the duties of set-up plating and running the Vidas in Microbiology. In Hematology I used the Sysmex XN-1000 along with the Cell Vision differential counter.

• During my time at Blount Memorial as a travel MLT I worked with the griffols erytra blood bank analyzer as well as the Ortho Diagnostics gel system. I also used the verigene system in Micro. I worked with the Beckman AU 5800 and DXI 800. In Urinalysis the Aution Max and Iris were used. In Special Chemistry the Vidas was used. The analyzer used in Coagulation was the CS-2500. The LIS system is Sunquest.

• During my time at St. Bernards Medical Center I was working in central processing. I prepared specimens for testing including registering, ordering and specimen preparation.

• I perform all duties and am responsible for all departments of a general laboratory including microbiology and blood bank. I have experience here with the CLX20, ACCESS II, IL ELITE, LH500, HMX, and BAYER ADVANTIX. I also have experience with the Dimension EXL, Sysmex XS and Sysmex XN, and Cobas U 411. I perform maintenance, run quality control, and some service when needed on the instrumentation.

• During my brief time here, I performed all duties of a full scale laboratory including microbiology and blood bank. I performed several different kit tests in serology and phlebotomy when needed.
