Controls and extinguishes fires in a structural and aircraft setting. As a EMT-B I am proficient in performing basic emergency medical procedures by assessing injuries and providing treatment to sick and/or injured patients. As a hazardous material technician I am fully qualified to react to the presence or potential releases of hazardous materials, perform leak mitigation, and perform hazard and risk assessment techniques in completing initial incident analysis. As a fully certified driver/operate I am well experienced in firefighting vehicles such as pumper trucks, crash trucks, mobile water supply trucks, and airport rescue vehicles.   • I served and participated as a state firefighter crew member for the Rickenbacker State Fire Department. I am considered an expert in controlling and extinguishing fires by operating hoses, ladders, and hydrants. I also am an expert to Drive and operate firefighting vehicles such as pumpers, aerial ladder trucks, and Airport Rescue Firefighting vehicles to the scene of the fire and other workers normally consult me with due to my expertise in this area. I have expertly perform pre-fire planning by physically going through structures to become familiar with the layout, fire hazards, and location of fixed fire protection systems. As an expert EMT I have supervised and initiated established medical protocols in providing basic life support, such as performing noninvasive emergency procedures, controlling external bleeding and treating for shock. I also expertly have consulted other workers with my expertise in performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation and automatic external defibrillation where required. I also supervise and perform expert patient care to stabilize and prepare for patient transport to medical facilities. I conduct initial and on-going examination of patient for the assessment of nature, extent, and seriousness of the condition. Additional information

Having many certifications in the fire and EMS industry and the ability to complete tasks assigned to me I feel I am a good candidate for this position. I am eager to learn and ready to start a new chapter in my life with the VA. I am quick to learn and have worked on many different computer systems from the Dept of Education contract, Fire Communication, Fire Inspection and many more. Last April I broke my knee on shift during training drills. I have had many months of rehab and Orthopedic surgery. I understand needing help and wanting to help. Please let me help the ones that protect or nation. I will not let you down.
