• Responsibilities: Create a novel organizational structure for tactical application of strategic assets including space-based platforms, electronic warfare, and cyber. Manage relationships with national chiefs of defense in East Africa

Achievements:

• Created the Special Operations Robotics Controller Course to train Green Berets to build autonomous and piloted vehicles including first-person view unmanned aerial systems, using locally sourced components in any given theater of operations, and tailored in form, function, and payload to mission requirements.

• Enable more than 2,000 qualified applicants to join the United States Army and Army Reserve each year. Build community networks and be the face of the United States Army to the public

Achievements:

• Implemented industry-standard digital tools and platforms for marketing and lead development, raising the battalion’s performance from #32 of 38 to #4 of 38 in six months while reducing labor hours for manual administrative tasks by 37%.

• Develop, fund, execute, assess, and scale emerging technology opportunities in support of the Army’s future operations with a focus on AI/ML and data science. Served as the Commanding General’s liaison to commercial vendors

Achievements:

• Created a 42-person cross-functional team of data scientists, full stack developers, solutions architects, operational psychologists, mechanical engineers, and human performance professionals applied against 17 use cases which saved over $79M in total cost from an initial investment of $3.2M
• Established the first accredited cloud instance supporting operational use cases
• Completed a pioneering use case with integrated performance sensors and edge compute applications
• Delivered 3D mapping solutions and synthetic training environments for the Special Warfare Training Groups.

• Synchronize the commanding general’s major initiatives across 16 staff directorates, three subordinate commands, and five direct reporting units with a focus on resourcing through Department of Defense cornerstone processes in Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE)

Achievements:

• Planned and executed more than $150M in initiatives through the Program Objective Memorandum and Military Construction processes, including the creation of the Force Modernization Directorate, the Artificial Intelligence Division, and advanced technical skills schools in a new 2nd Special Warfare Training Group
• Completed the first supervised machine learning use case in the command to improve resource forecasting in the training pipeline by 96%.

• Chief of Staff equivalent with nine direct report staff sections supporting 18 expeditionary special operations elements. Serves as the Battalion Commander when required

Achievements:

• Created a machine learning-based maintenance application to improve efficiency by 75% in terms of labor hours and 78% in terms of financial expenditures
• Created an unsupervised machine learning global logistics visualization tool (now known as SCAVENGER) to inform strategic resource competition for rare earth minerals and fuel sources on the African continent.

• Support theater commander mission requirements through full-spectrum special operations with a focus on Afghanistan

Achievements:

• Pacified a roughly 1200 square kilometer stretch of southeastern Afghanistan to enable a new, sustainable microeconomy based on transportation of goods and services, supported by 120 kilometers of modern road paving, expansion of Afghan Wireless Cell Company (AWCC) signal propagation by constructing four new towers and securing the installation of hardware, establishing five Chambers of Commerce in four districts as a governance mechanism, and boosting the economic output of the region from 2.4B Pakistani Rupees ($8.5M USD, $50 per capita) in October 2009 to 10.1B Pakistani Rupees ($35.7M USD, $210 per capita) by February 2012.

• Learn to both serve and lead as an adult, develop commendable work ethic, and prepare for a life of accepting challenges

Achievements:

• Mastered the art of “when in charge, be in charge; and when someone else is in charge, give them your full support.”
• Proudly led 42 people in combat in Iraq at the beginning of the war, learned true empathy, and learned how to lose with resilience, both in resources and people.
• Applied those lessons to inform what ended up being a string of successes in my special operations career and community service.
