I grew up in an orphanage in Soweto, South Africa. I didn’t really know my birth parents since they both died before I was two. I was very sick and malnourished at that time. These early experiences made me passionate about being part of creating a world where all people have access to health care. It also made me think about how the lack of food and a challenged immune system effect brain development and what could be done to maximize potential. It is for these I now seek a community service placement, of at least 75 hours, i the Neurology Department at the Howard University Hospital. If you give me this extraordinary opportunity, I pledge to give it all I have.
