I am an instructor with the South Carolina Fire Academy. I am also an instructor for the American Safety and Health Institute, where I teach First Aid/CPR and Emergency Medical Responder (EMR).
I have been in the fire service for 25 years. I began my service with the Cheddar Fire Department, a division of Anderson County, as a volunteer and served with them for 15 years.
I serve for the Belton Fire Department, where I hold the position of Captain/NREMT and Training Officer. My daily roles include supervising a shift and an engine company. When called upon, I run fire ground operations, rescue operations, emergency medical services, and hazardous material responses. My additional role within the department is training officer, where I conduct and coordinate training for the department. I also serve as the fire prevention officer, my roles include planning and coordinating fire prevention programs, coordinating with schools and the public. During my tenure as CRR, the fire department received the FIRE SAFE SC Safe City Designation five years in a row.
I am currently employed full time and serve for the City of Mauldin, where I serve in the position of Lieutenant /NREMT. My responsibilities in this position include officer in charge of an engine company where I oversee the operation and day-to-day at the station and fill in as Battalion Chief in his absence on a rotation, as well as a member of the Greenville County ERT Team.
I previously served on the supervisory committee and currently serve on the members’ benefit committee for the South Carolina State Firefighters’ Association, as well as a member of the officers’ section. I also serve on the awards committee for the South Carolina State Association of Fire Chiefs.
I am a graduate of the South Carolina State Firefighters’ Association Leadership Institute in 2022. I am also a graduate of the South Carolina State Association of Fire Chiefs’ Chief Fire Officer Program in 2024. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Fire Administration from Columbia Southern University. I plan to get my master’s degree and apply for the executive fire officer program at the National Fire Academy.
