Work History

Engineer

Johnson Controls
1 2021 - 08.2024
  • I understand that this job might be different from working in sales, but I have learned valuable skills that transfer over, such as.
  • Problem solving - This is a huge factor in my current job, as we work on lots of different industrial-scale machinery.
  • This means if there's a problem, I need to locate it and fix it. Many times, the machines are something that I have never seen before, and it takes a lot of patience to sit and read manuals at 10 pm after starting at 8 am.
  • Customer communications - We deal with multi-million pound contracts, and I have to speak with customers and communicate how projects are going, etc.
  • Work ethic - Since starting my job, I have developed a strong work ethic. I work Monday 9-5, as well as taking on any weekend work that is available. Additionally, working in this industry requires working until a job is complete, as walking away could cost customers hundreds of thousands in wasted product. Therefore, I always work until a job is completed. I once even worked an 8-hour shift with 16 hours of overtime, working 24 hours.
  • Learning new skills - I strive to constantly learn as much as possible. I have a passion for learning new skills.

I pride myself on being a hard, devoted worker to really develop my craft and strive to be the best I can possibly be at my job. As well as establishing strong working relationships with clients through exceptional communication skills, fostering trust, and collaboration.

Specialist Cleaning Team

Glen Contracts
11.2016 - 08.2024

Working at Glens has been very beneficial. Many skills I developed were:

  • Clean working - clean and tidy working is a great trait I developed from working with Glens. By this, I mean picking up litter I see in jobs and binning it.
  • Cleaning up any mess made during work as I go.
  • Building relationships with customers - This was crucial, as I learned that being polite and also chatty can lead to taking new contracts and is a massively important part of sales.
  • Management - Working as a manager at Glens helped me build strengths in team building.
  • Working as a manager also helped me be a better team player and a more understanding person.

Sale Assistant

JD Sports
01.2018 - 03.2020

The skills I learned at JD Sports:

  • Keeping customers happy - I often handled customer inquiries, complaints, and returns professionally, ensuring a positive experience for all clients.
  • Helping others - In my role at JD, I would always help out new starts and involve them to make the transition to joining the team as easy as possible. I believe a good work environment will create the best quality work. If people can rely on each other, then the team will thrive.
