Summary

In my 38 year career I have been around the world 18 times and visited over 77 countries. I have the wish to work in my backyard again on the Great Lakes. My children are all grown and on their own and I am looking to work closer to home. I am currently on a steamship in Norfolk Va. assisting the Port Engineer oversee a 2.5 million repair of deck hatches on the SS Wright.

My first officers position was on the SS Courtney Burton Operated by Columbia Transportation. I am a 38 year member of AMO Union in good standing. I can bring experience and training to any vessel in which I am employed.

Chief Engineer on the USNS Howard O. Lorenzen. Designed, Built and currently monitoring all types of missile deployments by foreign countries as well as testing of US missiles. Usually 45 day deployments and a 4 month on 4 off schedule. Responsible for all maintenance and repairs of vessel.

Before that vessel I was Chief Engineer on the USNS Impeccable. Vessel was a sonar submarine hunter and locator.

I started sailing as an engineer on the Great Lakes in 1987. My career has taken me thru steam electric vessels, steamships, diesel electric and diesel plants, with a small amount of gas turbine time.

I have worked break out vessels for desert Shield, Desert Storm, Iraqi Freedom, and Enduring Freedom, receiving 3 Merchant Marine Expeditionary Medals.
