I worked for the City of Palestine for 6 years & 3 months it's a community of 18,712 people with a demand for water up to as high as 8 MGD as of now. I
started as a meter reader where I shortly afterwards promoted to a water
plant operator. Job duties included collecting samples, running
analysis on samples, documenting all required information for the water
treatment process, chemical dosages, filter back washes, filter media core sampling, ordering lab supplies, ordering all parts needed for repair
of equipment, tank inspections, calibrating & servicing
all equipment from analyzers such as CL17s to repacking vertical turbine
or horizontal split case pumps, flushing hydrants, & etc.. In August of 2013 I promoted to Supervisor of the Water Treatment Plant and my job duties included documenting all required information for the water
treatment process, filter profile
report, filter assessment, ordering
chemicals, retention of all state required maint.
& records of water treatment process, managing employees
time & schedule, delegating work appropriately to employees,
managing the budget for the water treatment plant, develop a 8 year CIP
annually based on year to year needs, going out for bids for POs, & etc.. I currently hold an "A" water license which covers all three fields in the
state of Texas surface water, ground water, and distribution.
