Program Quality, Safety, and Compliance

  • Oversee all compliance, safety, medical, and operational standards for American Camp Association–accredited Camp Uncommon, which received perfect ACA scores in both 2021 and 2024—demonstrating excellence in safety, risk management, program design, and operations.
  • Design and update risk management protocols, emergency procedures, and crisis response systems to ensure consistent and exceptional standards across all operations.

Staff Leadership, Training, and Development

  • Recruit, hire, train, coach, and evaluate 80+ senior staff, operations personnel, program heads, and counselors annually.
  • Build talent pipelines and professional development systems that strengthen leadership capacity, increase seasonal staff retention, and elevate program delivery.
  • Lead Senior Staff Summits, professional development cycles, and year-round communication structures to ensure cohesion and readiness.

Program Innovation and Design

  • Design a comprehensive, equity-centered training program integrating SEL, trauma-informed practices, youth behavior supports, child safety, and operational readiness.
  • Oversee all aspects of a 10-week residential program, including a one-week orientation, program execution, operations management, health services, food services, and facilities coordination.
  • Develop and implement behavior support systems that significantly reduce crisis interventions, and strengthen camper engagement and belonging.

Family, School, and Community Partnerships

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with families, campers, Uncommon Schools, and community partners to ensure transparency, safety, and exceptional support.
  • Serve as a key communicator during program planning, operational updates, and crisis response.
