Accomplishments

NYSCOPBA:

  • Through continuous working relations with NYS DOCCS Management successfully effected policy changes for better equipment, Pepper spray program, additional K9, mail scanning and cell phone detection in correctional facilities.
  • Created a Secure Vendor Package Program for Incarcerated Individuals.
  • Traveled the State of NY and met with all District Attorneys throughout NY to ensure all Assaults on Staff and Incarcerated Individuals are aggressively prosecuted.
  • Negotiated additional body cameras, implementation of body scanners and worked to increase staffing needs.
  • Added additional extended benefits to the NYSCOPBA membership in creating a Rainy Day Fund for members who qualify under disciplinary suspension.

  • Worked with NY State office of General Services to create a Correctional Officer and Sergeant Memorial Wall in the State Capitol.
