Level 1 Trauma , Comprehensive Stroke, and STEMI Center.

• Provide direct care to critically ill patients in a 10-bed Surgical Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
• Act as Charge Nurse on the ICU unit, providing leadership and support to nursing staff while ensuring high-quality care for critically ill patients.

Patient Care

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for adult trauma and surgical patients with life-threatening injuries or conditions, including multi-system trauma, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, severe burns, and post-operative complications.
• Perform advanced monitoring and interventions, including ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, titration of vasoactive medications.
• Rapidly recognize and respond to changes in patient condition; initiate life-saving measures as needed.
• Administer medications, blood products, and manage complex IV drips according to physician orders and protocols.
• Serve as a member of the multidisciplinary trauma team, working closely with trauma surgeons, intensivists, anesthesiologists, respiratory therapists, social worker, and other allied health professionals.
• Provide clear and compassionate communication with patients and families regarding care plans, procedures, and prognosis.
• Serve as a resource and preceptor to new staff, nursing students, and float nurses.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and detailed documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) in accordance with hospital, state, and regulatory guidelines.
• Adhere to infection control, patient safety, and quality assurance standards.
• Engage in ongoing education and training specific to trauma care, critical care nursing, and hospital initiatives.

• Provide basic hygienic care to patients, including assistance with dressing, grooming, bathing, and toileting to ensure comfort and dignity.
• Transport patients to assigned units and CT/MRI/Ultrasound suites
• Assist physicians and healthcare staff during examinations and treatments by positioning, draping, escorting, and holding patients as needed.
• Make patient beds, change soiled linens, and ensure proper cleaning and maintenance of patient care equipment according to established policies and procedures.

• Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) | 10 Years’ Experience
• Provided nursing care in diverse settings, including long-term care facilities, home health, and long-term acute care hospitals for nearly a decade.
• Deliver direct patient care to residents with chronic and complex medical needs, ensuring comfort, dignity, and safety at all times.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, monitor for side effects, and document responses accurately in the electronic health record.
• Cared for wounds, provided treatments, and assisted with procedures.
• Assisted with admissions, appointments, transfers, and discharges.
