Commander, Homeland Security Section

• Oversee all counter terrorism and homeland security initiatives within the police department while working towards preventing, detecting and deterring terrorist acts that threaten the community
• Work cooperatively and collaboratively with local, state and federal agencies to maintain productive partnerships for information sharing, joint investigations and strong platforms for successful prosecutions
• Manage staff on the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF), Cyber Terrorism Task Force (CTTF) and the Northern Virginia Regional Intelligence Center (NVRIC)
• Member of the Council of Government (COG) Intelligence Subcommittee

Commander, Criminal Investigations Section

• Lead a staff of 60 employees who provide high quality service to the community through the successful investigation of criminal offenses while contributing to the priority of crime control & prevention
• Oversee very complex investigations (murder, rape, robbery, malicious wounding, financial, etc.) that generate significant public and political interest
• Manage staff on the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force (VCTF), Child Exploitation and Trafficking Task Force (CETTF), the DHS Cyber Fraud Task Force (CFTF) and VSP Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC)
• Member of the Council of Government (COG) Police Investigative Commanders Subcommittee

Commander, Community Engagement Section

• Department liaison for the Office of Emergency Management
• Responsible for the management, procurement and distribution of all safety supplies during COVID
• Lead for Emergency Support Function (ESF-13) for the police department
• Manage communications between Arlington Public Schools (APS), Department of Human Resources (DHS) and the Police Department

Project Management

• Research various technology platforms, schedule demonstrations and conduct RFP processes for procurement of items such as License Plate Readers (LPR), Starlight, BriefCam and Mobile Data Terminals (MDT)
• Implemented the departments Body Worn Camera (BWC) Program after a thorough T&E process, converted all interview rooms to video and developed policy and procedures
• Facilitate meetings with vendors, sworn & civilian staff, IT, Commonwealth's Attorney Office, Courts, Department of Technology Services and other stakeholders
• Initiated the Future Technology Planning Subcommittee
