Accomplishments

  • SPC Schmidt embodied every aspect of being a Soldier as a Patriot Launching Station Enhanced Operator/Maintainer for the Assassin Battery. He certified first-time "GO" during an Air Defense Gunnery Table (ADGT) VIII as a Prepare for Movement and Emplacement (PM&E) crew member. In addition, SPC Schmidt utilized his skill set to develop and train two new Launcher Platoon PM&E crews. SPC Schmidt's efforts provided Alpha Battery with the tactical capabilities necessary to maintain "Fight Tonight" readiness for the battalion.
  • SPC Schmidt demonstrated his proficiency as a Hot Crew member during gunnery and countless system validations. His hard work and dedication as a Hot Crew member promoted efficiency within the battery that increased Alpha Battery's effectiveness. His experience led to an increase in coordination between Launcher and Fire Control platoons. SPC Schmidt applied his knowledge and skills to contribute to the success of missile-selectability operations during the command directed TACSITE Relief-in-Place with Charlie Battery, 6-52 ADA BN.
  • SPC Schmidt served a crucial role during Alpha Battery's directed relocation from Suwon Air Base to Camp Humphreys in July 2021. SPC Schmidt assisted the battery ADVON team at USAG-H and prepared the Vehicle Motor Facility (VMF) for vehicle reception. SPC Schmidt ensured safety conditions were met in order to receive the unit's Patriot equipment into the VMF with zero damage to equipment and no safety incidents. SPC Schmidt's actions enabled a successful relocation ensuring AMD readiness for the Iron Horse Battalion.
