Michael Schultz

Under the direction of both the Chair of the Department of Medicine and the Hospitalist Chief I oversaw the management of medical observation patients. This role included both clinical and administrative capacities. My administrative capacities included ensuring department metrics pertaining to length of stay, telemetry times, standard of care as it pertains to cardiovascular and neurologic patients were followed.

I chaired the hospitals observation committee and sat on several other committees including; Utilization review, Peer review, stroke committee, and congestive heart failure.

I am currently writing the hospital policy for patient sedation for MRI

Managed in patients for a large GI service at the Hospital of Saint Raphaels. My duties included medical management of in-patients. These duties included providing GI consultation, follow-ups and co-management of patients as well as coordinating patient care with the GI lab.
