I've been in food my entire professional career. I wanted to do something with EMS in high school, but I was discouraged after learning the salary. After my motorcycle wreck in August 2024, costing my spleen and left kidney, as well as earning me a spinal fusion and a month in the hospital, I knew I wanted to do something with medicine; I wanted to help people. I enrolled in the EMT course at JCTC and passed my NREMT on my first attempt at 70 questions. I don't think I've ever been as passionate about anything as I am about wanting to work in EMS my entire life.
