Work History

VP/Sr. Business Development Officer

Happy State Bank
Canyon, Texas
11.2023 - Current
  • Managed a territory including Canyon, Amarillo, Hereford, and Happy, making 20 calls per week to engage with former, current, and potential new customers.
  • Sold retail and commercial banking products, including CDAR programs and ICS accounts, while referring clients to the Trust Department and Panhandle Wealth Department.
  • Collaborated with lenders at the Canyon Branch by referring loan opportunities identified during customer interactions.

Vice President of Commerical Lender III

Happy State Bank
Canyon, Texas
09.2009 - 11.2023
  • I increased my commercial portfolio from $18 million to over $52 million while lending in commercial construction, and 1-4 family spec, custom homes, and investment properties. This also consists of developing raw land for subdivisions with builders. My portfolio was 85% real estate, and the rest was consumer loans and small business lines of credit. I encouraged all my builders to build for the Parade of Homes to showcase their homes, and I helped sit in the homes during the Parade to talk to future buyers or get them in contact with the builder if they were interested in building with them.
  • Presented to Executive and Sr. Executive loan committees with loans over $5 million to $10 million.
  • Developed a processing worksheet that was used to train other lenders, as well as lending assistants throughout the bank.
  • Supervised and trained lending assistants on the daily maintenance of the loans, draws, and ensured that we had no exceptions on any of the loans.
  • Worked with West Texas A&M Business Department doing mock interviews, judging resumes, and attending WT's job fairs twice a year, looking for new hires for the bank. These new hires were for credit analysts, IT, and accounting. These departments had internships that we could pick from the best of WT.

AVP of Commercial Lending

Frist National Bank of Canadian
Canyon, Texas
09.2005 - 09.2009
  • Responsible for processing and closing all consumer mortgage loans, and oversaw the development of the mortgage business in the bank.
  • Learned to open and close the bank, count the teller drawer, and vault. Then I ran the work for that day's transactions.
  • I learned how to open checking and savings accounts on FNB Systems.
  • I leaned towards commercial and consumer lending while doing mortgages at the same time.
  • Learned structuring the commercial (Construction and permanent) and consumer loans.
