ACTIVITIES

I love spending time with family and friends, especially outdoors in the Sierra Nevadas or at local beaches. When I have the time, I really enjoy hands on work with hard woods, mechanics on my vehicles, auto body, residential electrical, watching collegiate wrestling, surfing, and fishing.

  • I am very enthusiastic and strongly believe that I have the skills and mindset to make a great worker. Here are some of my qualifications as follows:
  • 1. Safety
  • Throughout my 27 years of employment with OCTA I have had no work injuries. Also, in 2020 I received a 20-year safe driving award and safety jacket. I am a very safety-sensitive individual who looks for ways to help others work safely and am always open to suggestions from co-workers or management.
  • 2. Reliability
  • In my 27 years of working Bus Operations and the Maintenance Department, I have worked shifts such as early morning, mid-day, late night, split shift, on-call, as well as working on holidays and weekends. Throughout my career, I have maintained outstanding attendance while working all these shifts. Additionally, since my transfer into the Maintenance Department, I have maintained a perfect attendance record.
  • 3. Automotive engineering experience
  • 1987-1990 I was enrolled in an automotive shop course at Magnolia High School.
  • 1990-1992 I was enrolled in Auto Body/Mechanical/Welding trade school at Fullerton High School.
  • 1996-1997 I worked for Stolo Cabinets where I performed facility and vehicle maintenance on a weekly basis.
  • 2020-2021 I completed OCTA Maintenance Training Department’s Heavy Duty Bus Mechanic Certified Class.
  • 2021-2022 I completed the updated OCTA Maintenance Department’s Heavy Duty Bus Mechanic Certified Class.
  • 2020-Present. I have work as an apprentice mechanic for OCTA
  • 4. Leadership
  • 1987-1990 I wrestled in high school, lettering in varsity all 4 years. During my senior year I became a varsity team captain, helping lead our team to an Orange League Championship.
  • 1991-1998 I worked in various construction trades, at times being the lead man on many projects.
  • 2006 I worked part time for OCTA to act as a general contractor and lead man for building a custom home. I orchestrated the construction crews for all phases of the build and dealt with all county inspectors and their correction notices.
  • 1999-2020 I took the lead as a coach operator ensuring safe and reliable transportation for all passengers. Ensuring the highest level of customer service.
