Security Officer (Level II) responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Under limited supervision, position is responsible for the physical security for Kootenai Health's (KH) main campus, clinics, and all leased spaces.
  • Must maintain readiness and able to rapidly respond to emergency call's anywhere on campus utilizing proper escalation of force. Knowledgeable on escalation/deescalation procedures (verbal/non-verbal) as well as restraining techniques if needed.
  • Responsible for operating, monitoring, and proper response to all KH systems including campus wide surveillance systems, fire systems, infant abduction alarms, staff panic alarms, building alarms, Hospital CODE alert's, active-shooter access point lock/unlock system, as well as incoming/outgoing emergency call's with local and federal agencies, from KH's Security Operations Center.
  • Accountable for maintaining a clean and professional appearance as well as effectively being able to communicate with hospital staff, patients, visitors, and executives alike.

  • Accountable for the administrative, logistical, and tactical programs as Company First Sergeant; Managed resources efficiently, ensuring adequate supplies and equipment were available for all training requirements.
  • Responsible for the health and welfare of over 600 basic training infantry soldiers over the course of four, 22-week One Station Unit Training (OSUT) classes as a Senior Drill Sergeant; Received consistently high evaluations from superiors for outstanding leadership abilities and effective training methods.
  • Organized and instructed Advanced Rifle Marksmanship and Ranger Team Leader initiative programs. Programs produced four trainees attending the United States Army Sniper School and six trainees attending Ranger School directly after OSUT; resulting in for the first time in recent history all Sniper School and four Ranger School not only attending, but graduating from the courses directly following completion of OSUT.

Military Working Dog Handler, Team Lead

  • Military Working Dog Handler (MWD) for 2nd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment. Responsible for day-to-day operations of a three-man MWD Section.
  • Responsible for and assisted in the training, employment, and maintaining the health and welfare of multi-purpose Special Operations Military Working Dogs that can deploy worldwide within 18 hours and two Army Rangers.
  • Planned and prepared and executed two Battalion sized training events. Led coordination for over 90 Rangers and 60 Afghans for four Mission Rehearsal Exercises in Afghanistan demonstrating capabilities and limitations of MWD.
  • Affectively employed MWD, conducting multiple tasks including route/target clearance and maintaining gun-fire neutralization while directly engaged in close proximity with known enemies of the United States of America.

  • Held positions from a Corporal Gun Team Leader in charge of two Rangers to a Ranger Squad Leader in charge of seven Rangers in a Special Operations Ranger Rifle Platoon to Program Manager.
  • Responsible for the health and welfare of over 20 Rangers spanning over eight years continuously executing Joint Special Operations Readiness Training cycles/validations and combat deployments. Annually responsible for over $750,000 of military equipment with no discrepancies.
  • Selected, entrusted, and deployed independently to politically sensitive environment to fill one of two program manager positions. Responsible for all aspects of program (i.e. training, advising, logistics) including responsibility of $1.5 million dollars worth of assets no discrepancies.
  • Annually resourced and utilized platoon level training to enhance combat readiness and mental resilience. Enabled Rangers with the ability to grow professionally and promoted esprit de corps which empowered Rangers to work better as a team.
