Additional Information

  • In the Summer of 2021, I attended a volunteer trip to Colorado with KUIU, in order to tag and monitor migratory movement of Dall Sheep. I was not able to attend the week long process of monitoring the movement of the tagged ungulates, but I was able to help with the catching and tagging process. The group was able to assign numbers and gps devices to over 40 Sheep by the end of the 3 week trip.
  • While at Butte College, an instructor said that someone witnessed Kangaroo mice on campus, which are native to Mexico and not Northern California. I went with a group of biology students, under supervision of our zoology professor, to set up traps in order to attempt to catch a kangaroo mouse. We were unsuccessful at finding kangaroo mice, but we did however mange to catch a ferret (wild) and a possum after 3 days.
