  • I supervised about 60 officers on each shift. This included Sergeants, Detectives and Patrol officers.
  • It was my job to assign Sergeants to a patrol section and to make sure the Sergeants were supervising their officers and detectives.
  • I daily filled out the pay sheets and work sheets.
  • I conducted roll calls to make sure officers were present and knew their job assignments. Important Information was given to the officers of special areas of emphasis, including properties to watch and noted criminals understood to be in patrol areas. Also procedures were covered so the officers could do their jobs more effectively,
  • It was my job to review complaints, accident packets and Use of force reports that were forwarded to me by the Sergeants. If they needed correction I would send them back to the Sergeants for correction. If the packets needed no correction I would forward them to my Captain.
  • I also did end of year evaluations on my Sergeants.
  • I conducted monthly uniform inspections.
  • I coordinated with my Captain and made sure I was supervising my shift the way he wanted me to. Also any tasks given by the Captain were delegated to the Sergeants or handled myself depending on the task.
  • Lastly I monitored the shift to make sure policies and procedures were being followed.
