Engineer - Specializing in Structural Analysis

Boeing
05.2021 - 08.2023
  • Performed structural analysis for line replaceable units, vibration and pressure testing fixtures. The scope of these analysis includes: Static and Modal Finite Element Modeling, fastener stresses based on load distribution across all fasteners, cumulative damage index of circuit board components based on fatigue due to vibration/shock and thermal cycling, and many other types of structural analysis.
  • Assisted in project designs by providing suggestions for any unit not meeting design requirements while also assisting design engineers by reviewing accuracy of design engineer specs, dimensions, and documentation.
  • Assisted in lab work in the form of aiding in vibration testing as well as aiding assembly of early design prototypes.
  • Contributed analysis template spreadsheets to help streamline tedious parts of project stress analysis (modal analysis spreadsheet, fastener load calculation based on FEA output data files [BDFs]).
  • Represented the engineering team through structural analysis presentations in multiple design reviews conducted both internally and for the group's customer.

Student Engineer PDT

The University of Alabama in Huntsville
08.2019 - 05.2021
  • Reviewed engineering drawings for correct documentation and helped manage moving drawings through different stages of review and product management software.
  • Assisted structural analysts by performing static analysis on different components, while also aiding in editing and reviewing analysis performed by the mentor analyst.
  • Gradually took more responsibility and eventually started writing structural analysis reports as well as showing other Student Engineering PDT's how to perform different types of static structural analysis.

Proficiency in multiple tools ranging from Microsoft 360 tools, MATLAB, FEMAP (Siemens), and NX11

While at Boeing, I utilized many engineering tools often. For example FEMAP for finite element analysis paired with NASTRAN. As another example, NX11 was used often drawing reviews, documentation, and some lower level design work.

In all of my occupations, I have heavily utilized Microsoft 360 tools as well as the same equivalence in Google Drive's suite.

As a UAH student, I utilized MATLAB frequently. I occasionally used my knowledge in C++ for Arduino Programming Syntax. I also have some light experience in HTML and visualbasic.
