I started the season as the lead tech, served as interim manager from June to late July and was officially promoted to Manager in August. I opened Cedar Pass Lodge, Badlands Campground and Minute Man and Badlands Inn properties. Opening consisted of reinstalling fixtures and lines, turning on electric, gas and on demand water heaters, turning on water and flushing lines, turning on power and testing appliances and fixtures and performing necessary repairs of broken pvc, pex, copper and black nylon water lines. Duties after opening consisted of digging out and clearing maintenance hatches on rental cabins, replacing GFCI outlets and boxes in maintenance hatches, installing and plumbing new sump pumps in hatches, installing new splice boxes and romex to power fire suppression sensors, removing, disassembling, cleaning, reassembling and reinstalling suppression sensors, performing manual and flow tests on sensors, replacing toilet fill valves and lines, replacing cracked toilets, replacing auto valves on sinks in campground, installing counter tops and new sinks and faucets, painting and installing temp screen doors on cabins, repairing riding and push mowers, mowing grass at Minuteman property, replaced switches, outlets and breakers, cleaned out main electrical splice boxes on cabins, cleaned and organized maintenance facilities, cleaned and organized tools and parts, replaced coin operated shower valves and switches, replaced water heaters in housing trailers, cleared out large trash piles from Minuteman property, and much more.
I helped to build this company and it is owned by a close friend of mine. My duties vary depending on what is needed of me and how long I will be there before my next seasonal job. I helped to plan, stage and perform installations of multiple large projects. Rode along with and trained new hires and young techs. Rode along with and assisted senior techs. Created computer generated key systems. Helped to prep for and perform multiple large re-keying projects.
Was called to help cover a need for a shuttle driver and to assist with large maintenance projects and winterizing properties. Transported employees from housing sites to Cedar Pass Lodge and back to housing. Removed and disassembled damaged decks from employee trailers, cleared out maintenance building at Minuteman and made temp repairs to overhead doors, trouble shot electrical issues and performed repairs on employee housing, repaired multiple doors on rental cabins, rebuilt multiple prox reader locks on rental cabins, replaced screen and locks on multiple screen doors on rental cabins, assisted in closing and winterizing all properties, cleared out basement storage and freezers at Cedar Pass Lodge and assisted in dismantling and removing all fixtures and appliances from Cedar Pass Lodge kitchen area and relocating all fixtures and appliances to temp location.
Got back on the road after covid and traveled to multiple locations performing basic maintenance duties and worked a sugar beet harvest in Michigan.
