Work History

Process Technician

Carlex Glass
2017.09 - Current
  • Collaborated with whiteroom engineer to understand key responsibilities and facilitate personal development.
  • As a Process Technician I have performed daily inspections to ensure that the equipment in the Whiteroom and Assembly areas are continually running within control limits.
  • On a monthly basis I perform the Whiteroom Engineers PMs on the Tack Ovens, Nippers, and Auto Clave and have a strong understanding of the importance of these checks.
  • During my time at Carlex I have trained 20+ operators between both the Whiteroom and Assembly areas as well as 3 Process Technicians.
  • Heavily involved with the creation and maintaining of Training documents for the White Room and Assembly areas in the form of Standardized Work, Train and Attendances, and Line specific forms having created/updated 500+ in the last 4 years.
  • Trained in ensuring Line documentation is maintained at a level that satisfies both SCAAF and IATF requirements.
  • Received training from the current Engineer on critical documentation within the company such as but not limited to BOS Charts, SCAAF, Temporary Deviations, 8Ds and 5Ys, and our internal work order systems.
  • I have had a constant involvement with the Nippers and Tack Ovens during my time as a Process technician including the standardization of the nippers and creating their current feeding paths while collaborating with the process Engineer to ensure that the parts are always feeding in the most efficient way to ensure a high yield output against defects such as breakage and edge air.
  • Collaborated in root cause analysis efforts such as 8D and 5Y meetings, leveraging expertise to swiftly identify and implement effective solutions for process-related issues.
  • Collaborated with engineering teams to oversee equipment upgrades and installation projects such as the single unload station transition at East Prime, ensuring seamless integration with ongoing production activities.
  • Enhanced operational efficiency by refining process parameters and adjusting equipment settings to maximize output while ensuring that all changes remain within our control and spec limits.
  • Conducted preventive maintenance on equipment during scheduled downtime to minimize operational disruptions. A great example of this would be the Nipper rebuilds in July and December each year. I have been a part of every rebuild since joining the team.
  • I conduct daily audits of all Broke on Rack, Block Breaks, and Button Breaks. found at the Mirror Button Cell and Final Lines and log them into a spread sheet the breaks them out by the operator running the line at the point of breakage as well as which unload robot they came from. This has resulted in Button Cell adjustments that otherwise would not have been caught such as slowing the button press, and robot to button press hard stop alignments due to the spreadsheet highlighting these examples as outliers.
