Michael is a National Training Manager for Learning and Development with Blackstone Consulting, Inc. In this role, Michael researches, develops, and creates content in all aspects of hospital security, including operations, compliance, and employee development. Michael joined the BCI team in 2019 as part of the RAMP team, interacting with local facilities and consulting on security. In 2021, Michael joined the Learning & Development Team, focusing on training content creation.
Michael is a qualified Vistelar Master Trainer with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from California State University, Sacramento, and a Master’s from Millersville University in Emergency Management. Michael is no stranger to managing conflict, having spent 11 years as a deputy sheriff and correctional officer in Northern California and 17 years in the security industry in several roles ranging from emergency department security officer to security management and training. Michael specialized in developing new officers, policies, and programs for a major Northern California health system.
Michael has had the privilege of extensively training at the Center for Domestic Preparedness in Anniston, Alabama, in subjects such as hospital operations, emergency receiver response, radiological response, and healthcare leadership. Michael also attended radiological response training at the Y12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, and the Center for Radiological/Nuclear Training at the Nevada National Security Site. Michael is a certified TASER Instructor.
