Scheduling patients with specialists per Doctors’ outbound referral requests depending on the diagnosis’ and/or evaluations’ urgency and/or the patients’ medical insurance requirements, while documenting scheduled appointment information for proper co-management

Verifying patient exam eligibility per patients’ insurance policies (routine eye exam availability, specialist copays, deductibles, co-pays, out of state referral requirements)

Determining medical necessity / triage of “walk-in” patients requesting same day appointments

Initiating and completing PA requests via CoverMyMeds, ExpressScripts, BlinkRx Etc. per patients’ insurance requirements for outbound prescriptions determining medical necessity for approval

Requesting and obtaining insurance referrals per patients’ insurance requirements including appropriate diagnosis code(s) to determine medical necessity / approval when necessary

Scheduling post operative patients appropriately upon request of surgeons office / obtaining surgery notes / confirming post operative declaration(s)

Management of contact lens trials (ordering via ABB optical, contacting appropriate reps when necessary, and stocking once order has been received)

Ordering specialty contact lens trials for patients per doctors’ request when applicable

Reviewing all inbound faxes ( completing office note request forms / DME management from outside offices for co-management of mutual patients, confirming contact lens verification forms, completing disability verification forms and faxing appropriate requested documentation when necessary per HIPAA guidelines )

Ordering contact lenses and billing vision insurance(s) for material benefit(s) and / or exam when applicable
