  • Creative Writing- I like to dabble with poetry, short stories, opinion pieces, and prose.
  • Camping- I enjoy being outdoors and visiting historical and scenic places. Last summer I completed a solo 8 day camping trip in South Texas
  • Reading- I am an avid reader. I read everything from memoirs, biographies, articles, to poetry, and novels.
  • Gardening- I like to grow a variety of vegetables and am always rotating through seasonal plants. Cacti, succulents, and tropical plants are my favorite.
  • Animal Husbandry- I keep have 16 chickens and a slew of other farm animals. I am hoping to raise rabbits this fall.
  • Travel and Culture- I travel as often as I am able. My personal goal is to visit 2 foreign countries a year. I traveled to Mexico in February and Ireland in September. I pan to visit Columbia next spring.
  • Community Involvement- I try to be active in my neighborhood and community. Recently, I have enjoyed visiting with older people in my circle and with their permission recording their thoughts and remembrance of the past.
