• Processes specimens for analysis according to established procedures by checking patient identifiers and specimen integrity.
• Experience with SafeTrace, and Epic Beaker.

• Completes titers on specimens (antibody titers/titers for patients receiving transplants)

• Observes specimens with NTDs (No Type Detected) to determine any further workup needed for specimens (weak/absent backtype, invalid BMT, Dual Population) and positive antibody screens due to unexpected antibodies or patients receiving CD38.
• Communicates with outside facilities and physicians to collect patient transfusion history to rectify ABO Discrepancies.
• Performs quality control on reagents as needed.
• Performs crossmatches (Full Crossmatch and Electronic Crossmatch) as needed.
• Performs pre-transfusion and post transfusion testing, as needed, to investigate transfusion reactions.
• Performs further antibody workup as needed (DAT, Elution, PEG screen, Albumin panels).
• Performs DTT workups on samples from patients receiving Daratumumab.
• Issues blood products upon request by performing accurate clerical checks for patient and donor information.

• Experience working with Biorad IH-1000 analyzer including maintenance of instruments.
• Observes and investigates results flagged by instruments including ABO Discrepancies (weak/absent backtype, invalid BMT, Dual Population) and positive antibody screens due to unexpected antibodies or patients receiving monoclonal antibodies (CD47 and CD38)
• Communicates with outside facilities and physicians to collect patient transfusion history to rectify ABO Discrepancies.
• Performs quality control on reagents as needed.
• Orders and processes antigen negative blood products from outside vendors.
• Phenotypes units for patients who have unexpected antibodies.
• Performs crossmatches (Immediate spin, Full Crossmatch, and Electronic Crossmatch) as needed.
• Prepares units for OR procedures and outpatient regional facilities.
• Performs pre-transfusion and post transfusion testing, as needed, to investigate transfusion reactions.
• Experience with manual gel type and screen testing.
• Performs further antibody workup as needed (DAT, Elution, PEG screen, LISS Screen, Albumin panels).
• Performs DTT workups on samples from patients receiving Daratumumab.
• Issues blood products upon request by performing accurate clerical checks for patient and donor information.
• Sets up and checks MTP packs as needed.

• Experience working with Accu-CHEK, GEM 4000, Hemochron, and

iSTAT machines

• Prepared and participated in NYS and CAP inspections

• Completed CAP surveys for quality cross checks through AQQs and

WBGs.

• Completed linearities as part of new instrument set up and 6 month

maintenance.
