I gained valuable experience during my two-year tenure at Maxim.

Acquired skills through immersive learning experiences.

  • Ensured proper maintenance was performed on all machinery used during production processes.
  • Operated overhead crane systems for moving large objects safely around the shop floor.
  • Utilized various hand tools, such as grinders, pliers, hammers, and saws, to complete tasks quickly and efficiently.

Electrician Helper

  • I worked as a helper to wire up a three-phase pump and motor. We were having trouble once it was wired up, so my supervisor showed me ways to troubleshoot the problem and the correct actions to take. We were having issues with the motor starting and running. Well, every time the switch was activated, it would send a power surge and send the motor into a locked rotor state, causing fuses to blow and the motor to overheat.
  • Inspected electrical systems for any safety hazards or damages.
  • Conducted basic tests on electrical equipment to ensure proper functioning.
  • Connected cables from power sources to equipment using connectors, clamps.
  • Completed semi-skilled and skilled work under supervision of fully qualified professionals.

Welding Student

Maxim Watermakers

  • As a welding student, my supervisor gave me a project that would help me get comfortable with welding. With the guidance of my coworkers, who are veteran welders, it was easy for me to grasp the concept. It was my first time welding on a pipe, so I was nervous and trying to use the correct technique. Constructed protective bollard installations for secure gas bottle storage. The bottles were just kept stationary with a ratchet strap, so as to make it safer for all and make it OSHA-approved. leading to me building a metal racking system with chains to secure the bottles properly.
  • Received feedback from supervisors regarding completed projects and made improvements accordingly.
  • Prepared material surfaces for welding by removing scale, rust or other foreign matter.
  • Identified appropriate materials for welding jobs and determined proper welding techniques to use.
