My vision in life is to run and manage a firm that innovates new and daring financial products and services as a believer in free markets, strong institutions, and a sound regulatory environment to spur innovation and fair competition. · While in high School, I attended two seminars/conferences by the SECURITIES INDUSTRY TRAINING INSTITUTE (SITI) one on Equities Market and the other on the Debt Markets.
· While in high school, I was privileged to spend a day at Barclays Bank Treasury department and witnessed how market making works.
· I have been following financial markets since I was 16 years old and especially studied the global financial crises of 2008.
· While in the last year of high school, I was a member of Junior Achievers where I served as CFO for a small company inspired by Junior Achievers.
· I have traded in the foreign exchange markets, where I learned vital lessons in risk management and exposure (Retail Online Forex markets).
· Currently attending carpentry and joinery part-time classes on Saturday at Panesar Training Institute with intentions of developing wood working skills and hopefully personally furnish my future home.
· I am also interested and engaged in art projects since I was 13 years old which I have used to decorate our home and planning to do more in my own house in future.
· In my childhood l was very physically active and engaged in numerous sporting activities such as tennis, football, basketball, athletics, swimming, cricket, long jump, javelin and rugby.
· In End May to mid-June 2020, I was engaged in a short assignment at the Lukenya Motor Cross Lodge, providing general administrative support for about 3 weeks.
· I am currently doing an attachment in a furniture company by the name Love Artisan as an administrative and logistics assistance, the main duties being the purchase and tracking of inventory, customer engagements, reviewing new designs, testing and giving final recommendations before final approval.
During my free time i find myself engaging in the activities mentioned above as a way of relaxing whenever I'm feeling tense or the need to decompress especially watching documenteries about the universe. i also have a telescope that I occasionally use to look at planets especially jupiter and its moons.
· My fourth-year research topic was Mitigating the Impact of Foreign Portfolio Flows on Capital Markets: The case for a Dollar Based Economic Indicator.
· The research project was a study on the correlation between foreign investor capital and the performance of the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) and whether this capital movement could be tracked in order to create an economic indicator that investors might consider, in their investment decision making process.
