  • I worked to find additional ways to save energy and improve the day to day comfort of our buildings and keep to program running
  • I worked many holidays and weekends performing after hour energy audits looking for ways to save more energy and money
  • This took self-discipline and self-motivation to get out at 4 AM on a weekend or holiday to perform these inspections
  • During these visits I was also on the lookout for safety hazards that could harm an individual or our buildings
  • I also assisted in building inspections with Risk Management and USBE throughout the school year
  • I also visited several school faculty meetings to help them understand the energy conservation program and its importance to them and do the district.

  • My main responsibilities as Head Custodian were to ensure that the building is a safe and clean environment that promotes the education of the students that attended it
  • This included helping supervise breakfast and lunches as well as clean up after them, check the building each morning to ensure that the systems are operating properly, and if not, either address the problem or contact someone who could
  • I also had to supervise 1 full time custodian, 2 adult cleaners, and 2 student sweepers
  • I set up cleaning routines and made sure that they were taken care of each day with periodic room checks
  • I also made sure that the teachers had anything that they needed to best do their jobs
  • In the summer I had to make sure that the entire building was ready for the next year
  • This included assisting in planning and moving any teachers’ classrooms, painting needed areas, stripping and finishing floors, shampooing carpets along with any repairs that were not taken care of throughout the years while maintaining a presentable lawn to the public.
