  • As a summit tech my primary responsibilities are performing preventative maintenance and repairs on critical infrastructure systems and equipment including large hydraulics systems, air compressors., backup generators, glycol coolers.
  • Secondary duties include operating a large 20 ton bridge crane during equipment exchanges on the telescope and operating supporting equipment such as telehandlers, forklifts and more.
  • we have a large machine shop at the summit as well full welding shop to handle large on site repairs. i have become efficient in using the equipment "large bandsaws, lathes, welders ect" to be effective in performing repairs.

  • Duties as equipment manager at hawaii drilling and pump encompass maintaining a large fleet of drilling and pump servicing equipment. focusing mostly on heavy equipment maintenance and repairs.
  • HDPS has four large fresh water drill rigs. A Skytop Brewster a DSM a Shcramm T-130 and an Atlas Copco RD-20. Two rigs on Oahu, two on big island. keeping these rigs running with minimal downtime is the number one priority. Next up is all supporting equipment. Each rig has on site a telehandler, backhoe, large air compressor and large welder/generator and all drillers/pump operators on site have company trucks all of them part of the fleet. We do also have a handful pump rigs and large national cranes.
  • All these pieces of equipment require a wide variety of tooling which also take constant maintenance and fabrication to keep operational.
  • Keeping track of repairs using equipment management software and logging all repairs helps us follow vehicle and equipment costs. Vehicle replacement analysis are frequent and help us rotate our fleet to avoid costly repairs and downtime.
  • With every task or repair I perform I do it as safely as possible ensuring the proper PPE and procedures are used at all times and if any scenarios arrise that i am unfamiliar with I will pause and consult our safety team to make sure things are being done in the absolute safest way possible.
  • This is a large scale drilling and pump equipment management position.
