As an avid reader and published author of short stories, nonfiction, and poetry, I am passionate about contributing to the literary community to help it flourish. My education and work experience have provided me with the opportunity to refine my writing, editing, and interpersonal skills. My goal as an editor is to discover and showcase the highest quality work while encouraging all writers to grow and thrive.
Responsible for writing and editing articles on the writing life and craft, co-hosting Striving Novelists, an online writing community with weekly Zoom meetings, coordinating website content, managing social media accounts, and judging quarterly flash fiction contests.
Wrote feature articles, business profiles, and human-interest stories for a local monthly publication. Edited and proofread content. Worked with editors, writers, and photographers to deliver high-quality, informative, and entertaining content while meeting tight deadlines. Uploaded all content for publication and edited proofs.
Planned and taught Vinyasa yoga classes. Created a specialized course that taught yoga philosophy from a biblical perspective.
Owned and operated a small yoga business. Taught multi-level Vinyasa flow classes to all age groups. Provided periodic community-service programs. Designed and maintained business website. Wrote advertising copy. Developed educational, training, and class materials.
