Perform a wide range of Pharmacy operations, answer phones,count and label containers fill prescriptions with accuracy. Work to identify New Contracted Drugs and most cost-effective products by researching Open Market third parties; McKesson Prime Vendor account and Open Market account are set up to utilize the NAT, FSS, BPA and ABC ordering guidelines to ensure compliance with Federal purchasing regulations and policies along with maintaining documentation of DSCSA data per FDA requirements and accountability for auditing purposes. Verify products in the national drug file, PPS-N prior to ordering. Utilize McKesson reports for DSCSA data, receiving reports for audit purposes.
Procure prescription, non-prescription medications and health specific supply items (ostomy, incontinence, diabetic etc.) while ensuring to maintain purchasing policy and regulations set forth by the pharmacy service and VHA. Assist pharmacy staff with stock issues such as backorders and shortages by utilizing the Pharmacy Shortage TEAMS group. Maintain the recall SALESFORCE database daily by sequestering affected product UPC, NDC/LOTS and obtaining a RA return authorization from the Reverse Distribution Centor for credit of affected lot. The credit is downloaded to the Salesforce database. A Recall Response Form is completed and emailed to the RDC and reported to the Pharmacy Management. Research and procure products from Medline, Independence Med., Hollister, etc for patients that use ileostomy, colostomy, catheter etc. Train Pharmacy Technicians in policy and procedures; purchase card for procuring products, receiving products from Vendors while observing purchasing protocol, return un-needed product. Maintain purchase card purchases and documentation with accuracy per VA financial policy. Operated the pharmacy Automated Dispensing Equipment(OPTI-FIL), restock and maintained a cleaning schedule (06/2005-04/2006)
