2005-2019 Surgical Services - Responsible for patient care in Ambulatory Surgery, PACU and Riecker Surgery. These units were fast paced and subject to change on a daily basis. I was responsible for the assessment, monitoring, and care of perioperative and postoperative patients ranging from infants to geriatrics, This required collaborating with the entire surgical team. My role also required assisting surgeons with minor procedures. During this time I participated in the Shared Governance Committee and maintained a certification in ACLS at this time.
2019-2021 Research -Coordination of Oncology, Cardiovascular and Covid-19 clinical trials. This role required screening and identifying patients that qualify to participate in a clinical trial. Also, required coordinating all activities required by the trial, including patient visits, testing, physician visits and data collection. Good communication and collaboration with research team was crucial to maintain the integrity of the trial. I maintained certification in Good Clinical Practice and International Air Transport Association (IATA) and was a member of the Cancer Committee and Breast Leadership team.
2021-Present Total Joints Case Manager - Responsibilities are to review all patients that are scheduled for total joint hip or knee replacement for the health system. Identifying those patients that will need inpatient status and higher level of care. Collaborating with the orthopedic offices and providers when patients are identified. Submitting prior authorizations to insurance companies, handling denials & peer to peer appeals. Responsible for the Utilization Review of the orthopedic patient post operatively.
