Administrative Duties
- Case coordination: Assist tax resolution specialists in managing client files, tracking case progress, and organizing all related documentation.
- Communication management: Handle all incoming and outgoing mail and phone calls with both clients and taxing authorities, ensuring timely and professional correspondence.
- Document preparation: Prepare, review, and file various forms, including Powers of Attorney (Form 2848), financial statements, and other client- and tax-agency-specific paperwork.
- Scheduling and calendar management: Manage case deadlines, and coordinate appointments and meetings with clients and taxing authorities.
- Process optimization: Assist in streamlining administrative procedures, such as client intake, document filing, and case updates, to improve team efficiency.
Licensed Representative Duties
- Client representation: Exercise unlimited practice rights to represent clients with collection matters with the IRS and state tax authorities.
- Negotiation: Negotiate with taxing authorities to achieve the best possible outcomes for clients, including installment agreements and penalty abatement.
- Tax issue resolution: Apply knowledge IRS procedures to resolve complex tax issues, such as tax liens, wage garnishments, and bank levies.
- Client consultation: Communicate directly with clients to gather financial information, explain resolution options, and guide them through the process.
- Continuous education: Complete required continuing education to maintain EA license, stay current with all changes to tax laws, and inform clients of relevant updates.
