  • Schedule surgeries for multiple orthopedic physicians.
  • Organize and schedule all preop testing including labwork, EKGs, Chest X-Rays, medical/cardiac and other required clearance appointments, imaging, preop and postop appointments.
  • Enter surgery information into Athena and the Hospital database.
  • Enter all orders into Athena including therapy, preop labs and preop imaging.
  • Gather all presurgical information for the patient and enter into a total joint book or folder (for all surgeries that are not a total joint).
  • Call the patient and go over appointments and instructions with the patient and have the patient come by the office to get their joint book/surgical paperwork.
  • Occasionally put in other orders to include physical therapy, imaging (MRI/CT/Venous Doppler, etc.), pain management and referrals.
  • Occasionally sanitized, restock, and organize exam rooms.
