• Acted as a liaison between Grade 8 classroom teachers, providing sufficient encouragement and support to ensure students completed missing assignments.
• Implemented small specific group instruction aimed at closing achievement gaps in mathematics. I.E. taught 4 levels within one class.
• Augmented Intervention Curriculum Bridges, with Khan Academy Early Math and Arithmetic so that each scholar solidified foundations in mathematics at their own pace.
• Fostered critical thinking skills through environmental projects in which students could physically see, hold and tally data prior to graphing line charts.
• Boosted overall student performance on MAP tests an average of 7 points or 10% improvements from Winter 2023 thru Spring 2024 by constantly reviewing hard to understand concepts.
• Established clear expectations for behavior and promoted individual and team accountability among scholars.

Mentored students on the LEGO Robotics team for Haut Gap

• The research division of the LEGO Robotics team engaged in early discussions with Haut Gap Administration during the brainstorming phase to refine the focus area for their LEGO project. Meetings with the Director of Public Works and the Mayor of James Island were conducted to observe contemporary solutions and directly understand the challenges posed by a choke point.
• Students were taught how to research using various methodologies including newspaper articles, televised broadcasts, interviewing one on one subject matter experts and lastly articles on web.

• Many students in program were not meeting expectations. It was necessary to introduce better study habits and strengthen their basic mathematical concepts/ skills. Processes have enabled students to improve their confidence; resulting in positive attitudes towards learning math. Once that was achieved, study habits improved their math skills, and are now performing at or exceeding original expectations.
