Michelle Griffin-Carter

Supportive Math educator bringing proven success as an SESES Math teacher for MCPS. Proficient in planning algebra and geometry learning activities to meet instructional objectives for middle and high school students. Black Student Union Advisor (RMHS)

• Assists students with facilitating meetings and open forum discussions.
• Event planning of school and community events.
• Highlight and bring issues of equality and diversity to the forefront to awaken racial consciousness.

Minority Scholars Program Advisor (RMHS)

• Assist students with promoting the initiative of closing the opportunity and achievement gap that affect minorities.
• Create and Anti-Racist Curriculum Campaign in collaboration with the MCPS Social Studies Department.
• Coordinate the youth mentorship program with our neighboring elementary and middle school.
• Volunteer at and attend monthly task force meetings.

DECA CO-Advisor (RMHS)

• Assist to prepare emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management.
• Assist with coordinating with student leaders in planning and hosting the Maryland DECA Regional event.
• Travel with students to State and National Competitions.
• Provide a functional work space for student leaders to train and prepare for competitions.
