• I worked the counter at an extremely busy bakery/coffee shop in a buzzing, tourist beach town
• My responsibilities included setting up bakery displays for opening and refilling throughout the day, refilling coffee pots and iced tea urns and general cleaning
• Taking customer's hot food orders, fulfilling baked goods orders, preparing beverage orders and operating the cash register.

I worked on a 27 bedded General ICU where I provided nursing care for patients

• Post operatively including post esophagectomy, A.A.A. repair and ENT/maxillofacial surgeries
• In septic shock
• In respiratory failure requiring Non-Invasive or Invasive Ventilation
• On continuous renal replacement therapy

My nursing role also included

• collaborating with multidisciplinary team to coordinate care for complex patients needs
• Communicating with patient's family members in a clear, concise and always compassionate manner.

• I worked in the newly opened, JCI accredited Cleveland Clinic where I developed my endoscopic nursing skills in areas such as esophageal/colonic metallic stenting and more complex ERCP cases for patients with PSC and post liver transplant
• Cared for patients post Monitored Anesthesia Care and General Anesthesia
• Worked in a sedation nurse role administering conscious sedation intra-procedure
• Became proficient at using EPIC, the electronic medical record system
• Gained experience in providing holistic nursing care to Arab-Muslim patients incorporating their spiritual, cultural and interpersonal needs.

• I worked in a very fast paced, high volume JAG accredited endoscopy unit performing between 80-100 procedures a day which helped me build my organised work style
• My nursing roles included preparing patients pre-procedure including a comprehensive nursing assessment, IV cannulation, phlebotomy etc
• Assistance in diagnostic procedures (EGDs, colonoscopies, bronchoscopies/EBUS, cystoscopies, TRUS biopsies, EUS with FNA) and therapeutic (treatment of GI bleeds, endoscopic mucosal resection, radio-frequency ablation and PEG insertions)
• Monitoring patients post procedure/conscious sedation
• Organising patient's follow up care and providing patient education regarding discharge instructions and explanation of procedure results.
