Prepare patient for non-invasive cardiovascular test and explain procedure.

Monitor and support patients during diagnostic tests such as

• Stress tests (treadmill or pharmacological)
• EKG/ECG.
• Holter and event monitoring.
• Administer medication when needed for procedures.
• Recognize signs of cardiac distress and intervene appropriately.

Communicate test results and observations to physicians.

• Provide exceptional care for critically ill patients in a Cardiac/ Neuro critical care unit.
• Assessing a patients condition, planning, and implementing patient care needs
• Providing care to patients who have balloon pumps, impella device, external ventricular device, chest tubes, left ventricular assist device ( LVAD), and ventilators in place.
• Recovering patients after open heart surgery, brain surgery, cardiac procedures, and brain procedures.
• Responding to life saving procedures using nursing standards and protocols for treatment
• Collaborating with doctors and other members of the critical care team
• Patient advocate
• Provide emotional support to patients and their families
