I started my nursing career in 2020 at East Georgia Regional Medical Hospital and completed a 22 week residency and became an active and involved nurse within the organization. My nursing experiences have included care of surgical neonates, micro preemies (Small Baby Unit, SBU), various congenital anomalies, palliative care, pre-surgical cardiothoracic care, pre/post gastrointestinal surgical care, neurological care/assessments, etc. My skills include but are not limited to; IV starts, lab draws, safe medication administration, assistance with central line placement (UVC, UAC, PICC lines), VTM monitoring, management of ventilated patients (HFOV, SIMV, Conventional, etc), G-Tube feeds, salem sump/repogle management, ostomy care, tracheostomy care, respiratory distress management, CPAP/nasal cannula management, assistance with intubations, gavage feeds, vital sign assessment, etc. I have learned how to take action during a patient’s change of status and act accordingly.
