• Provides essential care of patients undergoing procedures for screening, diagnosis and/ or treatment of gastrointestinal disorders.
• Proficient in pre/post procedure nursing care including post-anesthesia care and educating patients prior to procedure and discharge from the unit.
• Works closely with physicians and NPs, PAs to ensure patient safety and satisfaction.
• Capable of assisting physicians during procedures as well as proper procedural documentation.
• Participates in procedures such as EGDs, Colonoscopies, Enteroscopies, Bronchoscopies, feeding tube placement, etc.

Nighttime Registered Nurse overseeing a 28 resident nursing home unit, reponsible for medications, hands on care and supervising Certified Nurse Aides. Other responsibilities included receiving Doctor orders and entering in computer system, following up and implementing Doctor orders. Paperwork for blood draws, knowing insurance coverage plus reasons/diagnosis for labs/ diagnostic testing being ordered. IV administration/Maintaining IV sites for duratio, knowledge of medications administered.
