GECCA, LLC designed multiple grading and drainage plans for properties throughout the El Paso, Texas, and Las Cruces, New Mexico region. The design of these plans informed the development and implementation of the Contractor Quality Control Plan and consisted of surveying the property as well as determining the necessary elevations of the land to convey the flow of water to a certain location, especially away from any structures. For most commercial properties, percolation and PI tests were necessary for the location where the structure was to be built. This geotechnical testing was also required during the design of all structural walls, construction inspections were also conducted to ensure that the design methods were
followed, and compaction tests were required to ensure the rock wall was built on stable material. The cast-in-place design was also common for structure walls. When a structure was formed from cast-in-place concrete, PI tests of the soil were taken as well as compaction tests prior to forming the structure.
